CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER, STARBASE INFRASTRUCTURE

As a member of the Starbase team, you will work with a group of elite engineers and project managers across multiple disciplines to design, build, and commission infrastructure for a variety of projects at Starbase as well as other SpaceX Facilities. You will influence design and own projects from start to finish to build Starbase into Earth’s first interplanetary port. This position is based in South Texas (Brownsville/South Padre area).

What you'd do

  • Write and manage design, engineering, and construction contracts across multiple disciplines through contract close-out
  • Perform project control tasks including project scheduling, budgeting, quality control, logistics, and operational coordination
  • Manage all aspects of multidisciplinary construction projects, both as an administrator and in the field
  • Interact with contractors, designers, fabricators, and internal customers
  • Resolve design and construction conflicts in real-time in the field
  • Oversee and own the full lifecycle of projects to achieve on-time and under-budget delivery with customer satisfaction. The following project management responsibilities apply
  • Manage tools and folder systems relating to the organization of our construction projects
  • Provide budgetary estimates based upon the preliminary scope of the project
  • Gather proposals from architects, engineers and contractors; award contracts upon receipt of all proposals
  • Develop the final cost and schedule for the project, and implement controls as needed to manage cost, schedule, and scope

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of professional experience in construction management or engineering
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Occasional travel may be required to support vehicle operations at production and launch sites
  • Stand: Up to 6 hours per day
  • Sit: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Push/Pull: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 1-2 hours per day
  • Overhead reach: Up to 1 hour per day
  • Walk: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Lift/Carry: Up to 25lbs. (unassisted) 1-2 hours per day
