At OpenAI, our User Operations team safeguards our products and users from legal risk, regulatory non-compliance, fraud, and abuse. The team operates at the intersection of operations, compliance, and user trust, embedded within the broader User Operations organization and collaborating cross-functionally with Legal, Governance Risk & Compliance, Policy and Engineering.

We support a global and diverse user base across OpenAI’s suite of product offerings, and developer tools by managing sensitive inbound tickets, regulatory obligations, and escalations.

What you'd do

Regulatory, audit, or compliance inquiries and user complaints across Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific. AI governance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act, DSA, and OSA)
Regional content moderation and online safety requirements in markets including EU, UK, Brazil, Indonesia, and Australia
Trust & Safety incidents that intersect with regulatory obligations
Privacy and intellectual property escalations e.g. privacy rights requests or copyright takedowns
Perform risk evaluations and investigations to shape the safety of our users and compliance with regulatory frameworks
Act as incident manager for highly sensitive regulatory reviews, coordinating with Legal on the interpretation of legal and regulatory standards
Interface directly with Legal, Governance Risk & Compliance, Privacy, Product, Policy and Support teams to coordinate escalations and resolution paths
Implement operational workflows for regulatory compliance and build and maintain tooling, escalation playbooks, and knowledge domains
Contribute to vendor training and governance models, especially during transitions and ramp-up phases
Lead or participate in cross-functional initiatives that strengthen our regulatory and legal infrastructure
