What you'd do

  • Develop, manage, and allocate requirements for engine control systems.
  • Perform control system analyses to support requirements development and verification activities for engine control system products.
  • Integrate engine control system components and subsystems.
  • Coordinate requirements and verification plans across multidisciplinary teams within Collins and with external customers.
  • Support the validation and verification of product requirements through analysis, development testing, and acceptance/qualification/certification testing
  • Analyze engine parameter data, support investigations using Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies and identify issues down to the component level for resolution by the responsible Integrated Project Team (IPT).

What they want

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEMP) and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • Active or eligible to obtain DoD Secret clearance
  • Aerospace engineering internship, coop, and/or school project team experience
  • Experience with gas turbine engines, aircraft systems, or comparable systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, DOORS/DXL, MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape/Dymola, and SysML/MagicDraw/Cameo
  • Understanding of system controls, dynamics modeling, verification, and validation
  • Strong communication & teamwork skills; experience presenting
  • Strong analytical capability; ability to think at the system level
