STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for a Convolutor Operator to join the team. This position is responsible for Set up and operation of the tube convolution testing machine including external cylindrical and tapered surfaces of rotating metal workpieces such as tool, die, and machine parts by performing the following duties. 2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday, 3:15 -1:45AM; $1.00 Shift Differential

What you'd do

Select and install brass seals, nylon dies, forming dies/mandrels and compression dies/mandrels.
Load tubing onto forming and compression mandrels.
Select, operate and adjust computer controlled programs through a touch screen interface to remove die and crimp marks.
Trim hose using a pipe cutter.
Select sample tooling, section hose samples and inspect to PS 499 using a shadowgraph and wall thickness gauge.
Monitor hydraulic forming pressure while machine is running.
Measure hose using a micrometer and calipers; then adjust as required for dimensional compliance.
Compress formed hose to appropriate PS 499 compression templates.
Select pressure test tooling and test compressed hose.
Track footage of used tubing and completed hose.
