Practice Overview: The Intellectual Property (IP) practice focuses on the valuation of cutting-edge technology including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. We combine state-of-the art data and analytics with advanced valuation methodologies to support decision-making in transactions, portfolio management, and disputes.
Role Overview: Interns on Ankura’s IP team assist with workstreams necessary for the preparation of financial, accounting, and economic models and expert reports.
What you'd do
- Research and Industry Knowledge Development – Ankura's Interns perform research tasks directed at understanding business models, technologies, competitive landscapes, and other factors that can impact our client proposals and deliverables.
- Responsibilities may include performing detailed fact finding using public sources and assisting with review of confidential production documents.
- You can expect to expand your industry knowledge, contribute to the development of consulting capabilities, and assist with the articulation of our key findings and proposals to team members and clients.
- Analytics and Problem Solving – Ankura’s Interns perform critical, value-add work that directly impacts client deliverables.
- Responsibilities may include developing and performing financial, accounting, and economic models and performing data entry activities.
- Our professionals may also assist in the preparation of expert reports and exhibits, and in creating proper documentation for our analyses.
- Due Diligence and Quality Control – Our Interns perform critical quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and quality in financial, accounting, and economic models and expert reports.
What they want
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree with an expected graduation date that falls between December 2027 to August 2028.
- Preference will be given to business and technical majors (e.g.
- Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics).
- A cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Creative problem-solving ability and a collaborative mindset.
- Strong data analysis skills.
- Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize tasks.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Access, SQL, and Visio is a plus.
