Summer 2027 Intern - Enterprise Reporting & Analytics - Data Science
Summary:
The Data Science Intern will collaborate with business and IT teams to support data-driven initiatives within the Enterprise Reporting & Analytics (ER&A) team. During the internship, the intern will engage in translating business needs into analytical requirements, contribute to the development and deployment of AI/ML models, and perform exploratory data analysis, statistical testing, and feature engineering to uncover actionable insights.
This role offers hands-on experience with modern data tools and platforms including Snowflake, Tableau, and emerging AI technologies.
What you'd do
- Assist in the execution of AI and Machine Learning tasks, using tools such as Snowflake and emerging AI technologies.
- Assist in the gathering, cleaning and organizing of structured and unstructured data from various sources.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns and anomalies, using Python libraries to help analyze and visualize data.
- Support the development of predictive models.
- Applying machine learning techniques to help solve and provide solutions for the business.
- Work closely with data engineers, analyst and business stakeholders to understand business requirements and project goals.
What they want
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of the fundamentals of machine learning, generative AI, multi-modal data analysis, supervised vs. unsupervised learning, model evaluation, data mining, and predictive modeling, with exposure to applying these methods to real-world problems
- Apply predictive analytics and statistical modeling techniques to uncover trends, forecast outcomes, and support data-driven decision-making across business functions.
- Experience developing and implementing ML/AI models using programming language.
- Basic proficiency in Python and SQL for data analytics and machine learning • Ability to work in a team environment, effectively interacting with others.
- Conceptual and analytical thinker – ability to extract, analyze and document complex business and technical requirements/strategies from business and IT team members.
- The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.
- The candidate is expected to be available 40 hours a week for a period of 10-12 weeks between the months of May and August.
