What you'd do
- Support month-end close activities including cost validation, accrual analysis, and variance review
- Perform cost reclassifications to ensure expenses are charged to the correct contract, work package, and cost element
- Review and correct timecard allocations in collaboration with program managers and employees
- Conduct basic data analysis and reconciliation across financial systems to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with contract budget baseline maintenance, including updating work breakdown structures and tracking changes
- Support billing and revenue recognition processes by reconciling costs to invoices and tracking unbilled accounts receivable
- Partner with program managers, engineering leads, and supply chain teams to gather cost estimates and validate actuals
- Build recurring financial reports and dashboards in Excel, Anaplan, and Foundry to automate recurring program financial deliverables
- Learn and apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements over time
What they want
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 0–2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related analytical role (internships and co-ops count)
- Strong Excel modeling skills and comfort working with large datasets
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
- Must be a U.S. citizen and be eligible to apply for and maintain a U.S. security clearance
