Job Description Summary
The Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aerospace as a SkillBridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member’s suitability for the work.

- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
- Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline.
- Serves as best practice/quality resource.
- Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area.
- Contributes strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
- Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with other areas; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

What they want
- Active Military personnel on their last 180 days of Military service
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering environment, preferably working with jet aircrafts, aeroderivatives, or jet engines.
- This role requires the successful candidate to be able to acquire a US Government Security Clearance if requested; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. Citizenship.
