The DCSA Student Experience (DSE) '27 Cohort. Open to undergraduate and graduate students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0, who will remain full-time students through October 2028. Summer Cohort Start Date: 31 May 2027 (alternate: 14 June 2027); End Date: 20 August 2027. Students must attend for a minimum of 10 weeks (400 hours). What you'd do
- This is a temporary position NTE 04 September 2027.
- As a GENERAL STUDENT TRAINEE (PERSONNEL SECURITY) you will be responsible for the following duties: The work has government-wide impact, serves to accomplish the agency mission and enhances the national security.
- It affects hundreds of individuals annually who are seeking contract employment or are currently employed.
- This work is performed in an area of critical interest and potential controversy, including such key issues as protection of privacy and ensuring administrative "due process" in all cases.
- Assists in the adjudication of sensitive DCSA and other special cases after ensuring that these meet all pertinent case requirements.
- Interacts with contractor security and personnel office staff regarding issues or other developments in specific cases.
- Provides information regarding DCSA investigative policies, procedures and practices as appropriate.
- Assists in the preparation of written requests for reimbursable suitability/security investigations, reopen requests and coordinates with contractor for their completion.
- Makes use of various workload systems and processes to ensure that work produced is done within the guidance of DCSA policy and procedures.
- Provides support to other DCSA groups and branches to promote the goals of the investigative program.
- Provides technical assistance to contractor personnel as needed.
- Support the Trusted Agent who is responsible for 400 or more contractors for CAC administration and oversight purposes.
- Performs and controls both on-going and incidental special projects which are critical to the efficient operation of the branch and DCSA, and coordination of pilot projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
