The fab2 team can build anything. We design all the hardware and software needed to make chips and we make the fabs, tools, and components ourselves.
We're looking for exceptional, hands-on people who can iterate to the limits of what's possible.
fab2 was founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller. Sam is best known for making chips in his garage, and Jim has been a leader in the semiconductor industry for the past 40 years.
We are looking for an enthusiastic RF power engineering intern who can rapidly develop compact RF systems from gathering requirements to the production stage. The internship begins in May or June, with the option for preferably a 4 to 8-month commitment. You will get to own entire RF power systems while working closely with other engineers to enable small and fast semiconductor plasma systems.
What you'd do
- Contribute to the design of complete RF power systems from architecture to schematic to layout
- Ensure accurate RF power diagnostics and metrology
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to gather system requirements
- Help define of firmware requirements
- Source components and lead manufacturing effort
- Advanced degree in power electronics or related field
- Plasma systems experience
- Systems engineering and integration
- Housing Stipend to help with first month expenses
- Lunches daily, Dinners 3x per week, Stocked Office Kitchen with Snacks and Spindrifts
What they want
- Experience building of RF systems
- RF resonant power amplifier design in the 100s of Watts range
- RF power measurement sensor design
- Hands on prototyping and testing
- Cable harness design, documentation, and fabrication
