What you'd do
- How to provide daily engineering support within a fast‑paced Engine Assembly & Test environment
- Gaining hands‑on experience with shop floor operations.
- How to perform and submit technical evaluations of defective components using Collins and Pratt & Whitney design requirements, production limits, and field limits.
- How to support on‑site failure investigations and contribute to Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) activities.
- How to research supplier specifications and manufacturing processes to properly disposition hardware defects
- Collaboration / communication skills to support operations on the shop floor
- How to retrieve, interpret, and analyze engine test data in support of fault investigations.
- How to develop clear, professional PowerPoint presentations to communicate investigation status to customers.
- How to participate effectively in review meetings with Collins teams, suppliers, and customers.
- How to create and distribute concise technical status updates to internal teams.
What they want
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
- Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD, Autodesk or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and/or Outlook)
- Experience managing projects and working on cross-functional teams
- Experience with presenting information to internal and external stakeholders
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience
- Experience with SAP
