The Role:
Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be full-time, 6 months in duration.
The Manufacturing Engineer position is responsible for working with the various manufacturing managers in developing and implementing world class manufacturing through more efficient and effective methods of producing products and processes, focusing on safety, service, quality, and agility through process improvements.
What you'd do
- Product support and training
- Evaluate existing processes and implement new processes/automation techniques to improve product flow, part quality and first pass yields to reduce product cost and lead time.
- Create/revise part instructions and routings and train production and maintenance personnel on the use, set-up, maintain and trouble-shoot process/equipment.
- Work with production personnel to attain 100% on-time shipping performance by eliminating quality issues, improving capacity on bottle-neck processes and providing round-the-clock support
- Participate in 8D Problem Solving Teams in the failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective and preventative action activities for customer complaint resolution and internal manufacturing defect resolutions ensuring feedback and corrective action communication and implementation is consistent with customer expectations.
- Ensure closure of corrective actions within timing goals
- Lead projects and ensures all internal and external stakeholder requirements are met.
- Develop and updates product development plans and schedules.
- Hold project team members accountable for timely completion of assigned tasks and activities.
