What you'd do
- Perform detailed inspection of PCBAs, RF subassemblies, and cable assemblies to IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 standards for workmanship, solder quality, and conformance to engineering drawings.
- Conduct incoming, inline and EOL inspection of purchased PCBs, RF components, and materials to verify conformance to drawings, specifications, and purchase order requirements before release to production.
- Perform measurements using calibrated equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, microscopes) and support equipment calibration and material shelf-life programs.
- Verify assemblies match the latest engineering revisions and BOMs, and document inspection results in the ERP/MES system.
- Identify and document non-conformances, support Material Review Board (MRB) disposition, and participate in root-cause and corrective action (8D, RCCA, or equivalent).
- Contribute to the development and refinement of inspection plans, work instructions, and acceptance criteria alongside Quality and Manufacturing Engineering.
- Support internal and external audits and drive continuous-improvement projects that raise quality without unnecessary process overhead.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and supplier quality to resolve quality issues and drive process improvements.
What they want
- 3+ years of quality inspection experience in an electronics manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 2 years inspecting PCBAs or electronic assemblies.
- Hands-on experience inspecting electronic and RF assemblies (PCBs, wire harnesses, power supplies, or microwave/RF components) and using RF testing Equipment (VNAs, Oscilloscopes, SA, Multimeter, etc.)
- Current or prior IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
- Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wire run lists, and detailed work instructions.
- Experience with incoming/receiving inspection and precision measuring instruments, including microscopic visual inspection.
- Strong attention to detail with the confidence to make difficult reject calls when product reliability is at stake.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
