Co-op Civil Engineer: Traffic - Spring 2027

What they want

• Support the optimization of traffic signal systems, including signal timing and phasing, signal coordination, transit signal priority and adaptive traffic control systems.
• Collaborate with engineers to conduct traffic flow analysis, capacity analysis, and simulation modeling using software such as VISSIM, SYNCHRO, Sidra or HCS.
• Contribute to the development of transportation management plans, focusing on improving traffic operations and reducing congestion during construction or special events.
• Assist in the design of traffic elements of roadways, such as intersections, traffic signal layouts, pavement markings and signage
• Participate in the collection of traffic data, including traffic volume counts, travel time studies, traffic signal inventories, traffic observations and speed studies.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, drawings, and presentations summarizing findings, recommendations, and project deliverables.
• Assists engineer teams in various tasks and duties.
• Assists Engineer with research, development and design of projects.
• Assists Engineer with the preparation of engineering drawings and documents as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
