What you'd do

  • The Data Recording Operations team is a part of Pratt & Whitney’s Engineering, Development Operations, Test organization.
  • This team performs a wide variety of technical tasks in support of engine instrumentation and test facility readiness for development and production testing.
  • Set up of test facilities to support engine testing.
  • Set up of instrumentation measurement systems to support engine testing.
  • Consult and coordinate with engineering and customer groups to establish requirements.
  • Troubleshooting and calibration of devices in the test facility or lab, and operation of data acquisition systems during validation testing.
  • Hands-on instrumentation and data acquisition systems experience.
  • Data analysis.
  • Cross-functional collaboration.
  • Jet engine test operations.

What they want

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical, Computer, or Electrical Engineering, or a STEM Major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Fluent in English (verbal/written)
  • Knowledge of instrumentation including thermocouples, pressure transducers, load cells, voltage meters, and flow meters.
  • Knowledge of data acquisition systems and software.
  • Knowledge of electronics, data analysis, thermodynamics, fluids, and jet engine performance.
  • Experience with testing and verification
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams
